Panopticon

The Show Video

The given starting point of this project was the Bunhill Field. We needed to develop a show inspired by that cemetery.

We chose to make Panopticon the name of the show.

My initial idea is to make a plain white robe so that the performers will look more like blurry human figures instead of specific characters.

The irregular seams on the costumes will divide them into some detachable parts while giving out a sense of being trapped in a loop, and each part hidden under the surface would symbolize a theme of our scenes.

I used various materials to make these pieces, including wool felt, beads, knitting yarn, gauze, and rags with different colours.

I sewed the zipper on with great care to make it as invisible as possible.
